Community Support Services – creating opportunities, community presence and participation for people with learning and physical disabilities throughout Calderdale.

Community Support Services aims to help our service users carry out personal and domestic tasks, social, educational and leisure activities. We provide practical, home-based care and support to people of all ages.

We are committed to identifying each service user’s individual needs through tailored care plans. Our new base, Aachen Hall, has a number of excellent facilities, including a fully-equipped sensory room, broadcasting studio, IT room, state-of-the-art gym and large activity hall.

We’re committed to protecting your rights and independence. We have a zero-tolerance, no discrimination policy and our staff are experienced with and considerate of cultural and religious requirements and differences.

Our services include:


  • Assistance with personal care tasks
  • Assistance with medication
  • Domestic tasks (light cleaning, ironing and laundry)
  • Support to access leisure and educational facilities
  • Support with daily living skills (payment of bills, shopping, medical appointments)
  • Support to arrange and attend personal appointments (hairdressers, doctors and dentist)
  • Transportation and escort support
  • 24/7 service, including waking nights
  • Last minute/emergency sessions
  • Support is provided in sessions of at least one hour
